Welcome into my home and heart! Here I share and style my latest finds to help you feel chic, comfortable and confident.
Can I help you find something, friend?
My husband and I recently embarked on an 11-day trip to the Grand Canyon, Page/AZ, Zion, and Sedona – with our two boys (ages 5 and 7) in tow! I am so excited to share our full itinerary with you in case you want to plan a similar trip. My husband and I planned this on our own and used a lot of your suggestions to help us figure out where to stay and what to do. π
I’ll be splitting the blog post series into 4 parts in the same order we traveled. Stay tuned for parts 2-4!
Part 1: Grand Canyon
Day 1: Traveling to the Grand Canyon
Before we dive in, here’s what I wore! π
We flew from Jacksonville, FL to Phoenix, AZ because there was a non-stop option. We arrived just before 10 a.m. (thanks to the time difference, we gained 3 hours), rented a car, and made the 3.5 hour drive to the Maswik Lodge in the Grand Canyon.
We booked this trip last-minute (one month in advance) and would have preferred to stay at El Tovar if there had been availability. That hotel has actual views of the Grand Canyon!
If you do end up staying at Maswik Lodge (which is right across the street), I would request a newer/updated room! There is a food-court style place to eat on the property and a really good pizza place called Maswik Pizza Pub that has vegan cheese as an option.
Day 2: Yavapai Point
Here’s what I wore on Day 2.

The next morning, we ate breakfast in the Maswik Lodge food court (itβs grab-and-go style with some hotel plate options) and went on a 4 hour tour of the south rim that we booked through our hotel. It departed from our hotel and was so convenient. There were plenty of restrooms and even a place to get snacks along the way.
The views were incredible – we just kept a watchful eye on the kids because some areas did not have railings. We ate at Harvey House Cafe for lunch (I had a quinoa + tofu bowl) and then we went to the visitor center and did a short hike to Yavapai Point and walked around the Yavapai Museum of Geology. It was just under 2 miles round trip from the visitors center and lots of seating along the way to take pictures. The pathways were wide and could fit a stroller, too.
Here are a few priceless family pics from our trip!
