Welcome into my home and heart! Here I share and style my latest finds to help you feel chic, comfortable and confident.
Can I help you find something, friend?
For spring break, we decided to leave Florida’s 75-degree sunny weather for a snowy family vacation in Jackson Hole, WY!
This has been a bucket-list destination for my husband and I and we definitely learned a lot during this trip, including things we would have done differently. I hope our itinerary helps those of you planning a family vacation here!
We visited during the third week of March, when the weather in Jackson Hole can be a toss-up. We flew into Jackson Hole International Airport during what turned out to be a very snowy week. I highly recommend a 4 wheel drive car if you’re coming during the winter. (:
Here’s the cozy Spanx travel set I wore on the flight there. The pants have length options which you know I always love!
We originally debated between staying at a ski resort in town versus an Airbnb and settled on an Airbnb called Mustang Mountain Lodge in Victor, ID, which is a 35-ish mile drive from Jackson Hole and involves driving through Teton Pass.
Teton Pass has some of the steepest grades of any highway in the U.S. and was honestly a little nerve-wracking to drive through. I’m sure it’s beautiful in the summer but I would not voluntarily drive that again in the winter. We will definitely stay at a resort if we do another family vacation in Jackson Hole during winter!
Our flight got in later than expected and the roads were not great. We decided to stay at a hotel in Jackson Hole for the night and go to our Airbnb the following day. The next morning, we stopped at Snake River Roasting Co for coffee and breakfast (I got the avocado toast) and then walked around town. There is a cute little square the kids played in and threw snowballs/ran around to burn some energy off.
#OOTD: I highly recommend my Aritzia Puffer Jacket and Amazon Fleece-Lined Leggings. Both came in handy the entire trip and kept me incredibly warm!
Plot twist! We ended up getting snowed in the first full day at our Airbnb and did not feel comfortable driving Teton Pass to go into Jackson. We waited for the roads to clear and instead headed into the town of Driggs, which was down the road from our house in Victor.
Then we grabbed coffee and a bite to eat at Rise Coffee (so good)! After, we popped over to the Teton Geo Center, Museum and Discovery Hub – a free activity that the kids enjoyed.
Here is my #OOTD.
We wanted the full snow skiing experience (it was our first time), so I booked lessons at Grand Targhee Resort. Our kids are 6 and 8 years old and did a full day on the slopes. Their instructor was so patient and they were skiing down the smaller slopes at the end of the day. My husband and I opted for a half-day, which was the perfect amount of time for us.
We were able to rent the ski equipment there, which was super convenient. I stayed very warm and dry in this Amazon ski suit . I highly recommend it! There are several places to grab a bite to eat and a cute little coffee shop if you need to take a break and warm up.
Later in the week, we booked a Brushbuck Wildlife Tour of Grand Teton National Park. We did a half-day tour that started at 7:30 a.m.
Our guide, Mark, was extremely knowledgeable about the area. He provided us with binoculars and also set up a scope along the way so we could see animals off in the distance. We saw moose, big horn sheep, coyote, elk, and more!
Our kids were very engaged and only started to get antsy at the *very* end. I think a half day is plenty of time if you have younger kids.
In love with this pink Apres Ski Sweater and Amazon Fleece Lined Leggings + Moon Boots! I get the hype now with the boots. Even walking in 6-12” of snow, my feet stayed dry and warm.
After our tour, we stopped at Bapp for some vegan-friendly tofu and noodle bowls. Then we popped over to Persephone Bakery for the best oat milk vanilla latte I’ve ever had and some tasty pastries!
We ended up having a couple of movies day/letting the kids play in the snow days due to the roads. The area received more snow than expected, so we took advantage of the slower paced days.
One afternoon, our big ‘outing’ of the day was to Forage Bistro and Lounge, located at the Driggs airport. There are tons of vegan-friendly options (I had the winter chop salad and spicy cauliflower wings) and the food is fresh and locally-sourced. Bonus: you can see the planes take off right in front of you!
On our last full day, we went to Jackson Hole Resort to take the aerial tram 4,100+ vertical feet up to the top of the mountain! There, you’ll find ‘Corbet’s Cabin’, known for its ‘Top Of The World Waffles’.
This was honestly one of the highlights of the trip for me! The tram can hold 100 people going up, and everyone ‘except’ us was going up to ski DOWN the mountain! This is one of the steepest mountains in the country and I could not believe so many people were doing it and made it look so easy!
Overall, I would 10/10 recommend a family vacation to Jackson Hole and surrounding areas. We would love to go back in the summer and experience more of the outdoors (like hiking) and really take in the mountain views (it was snowy and cloudy for a lot of our trip).
If we went back in winter, we would opt for a ski resort in town for a more convenient option!
Here’s the Amazon matching set I wore on the flight home. You can message me on IG if you have any more questions about our Jackson Hole family vacation or the linked outfits. (:
